POSITIONS AVAILABLE

 

Engineer:

 

This entry level, professional, salaried position will provide experience in all facets of engineering undertaken by the firm. Major responsibilities would include developing designs and calculations for the construction engineering requirements of heavy highway bridge contractors and steel erectors.  These include erection plans, temporary shoring, sheeting and jacking designs. Other structural and civil engineering assignments also possible. Although primarily consisting of office design efforts, some field time should also be anticipated.

 

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited College is required. Applicant should have an interest and/or specialization in structures. Industry experience a plus but not required. Candidates should possess strong writing and communication skills and be proficient in AutoCAD and standard office productivity software (Microsoft Office, web browsing, email), and should be wlling to obtain their professional engineering license, when eligible.

 

 

Internships:

 

EIC provides paid internships to qualified Engineering students. This program provides students with hands-on, relevant experience in construction related design projects while simultaneously allowing them to earn remuneration to help further their studies, compensated on an hourly rate basis. Typical arrangements are full time for a specified duration (summer, semester, etc.) although part time arrangements simultaneous with studies are also possible. Work efforts primarily consist of office design work to reinforce the concepts that the interns have gained from their coursework, although interns are also given the opportunity to observe the implementation of their designs in the field when possible.

 

Successful applicants usually have completed their third year studies and demonstrated satisfactory progress in their strength of materials, statics, and structural courses. Familiarity with standard office productivity software (Microsoft Office, web browsing, email) and AutoCAD required.
